The Scandinavian Research Council for Criminology (NSfK) provides financial support for travel and study trips abroad (Guidelines § 9), such as:
- participation in conferences
- participation in academic courses in a foreign university
- research stay periods
- research trips (e.g. fieldwork abroad)
Please read more about the precise grant requirements from the NSfK Guidelines for Grants document (menu in the left hand side, §9 Travel grants).
Applications for travel and for study trip grants are normally reviewed by the Chairman of NSfK on an ongoing basis and according to the Guidelines for funding, approved by the Council. There are various maximum limits for chairman’s grants, depending on factors related to the purpose of the journey. Those applications for travel grants which exceed the maximum amounts must be reviewed by the Council.
All the applications for travel grants have to be submitted in the NSfK application portal (either in Scandinavian languages or in English). Please find the link to the portal at the end of this webpage.
Grant reporting: If you have received a travel grant from NSfK and completed the trip, please log in to the application portal (where you made the respective application for travel grant) and find the corresponding reporting forms under “Write report” section. It is required to do this within a month of completing the trip in question, so that we can disburse the grant.
The guidelines for NSfK travel and research grants have been revised from October 2017 onwards. Please read through the revised guidelines (menu in the left hand side) before applying!
