Research & Travel Grants

The Scandinavian Research Council for Criminology (SRCfC/NSfK) can provide financial support for research projects, working group meetings, travels, study trips, translations, etc.

Priority is given to applications for research projects relating to the themes decided upon by the Council.

The current themes are:

  • After release from prison 2009-2010
  • Restorative justice 2008-2009
  • Organized crime, economic crime and corruption 2007-2008

The Council normally reviews applications for financial support once a year at its annual meeting, which usually takes place at the end of March.

Travel grants, however, will normally be reviewed by the chairperson of the Council on an ongoing basis. Please use the forms below.

Announcement for 2010

Provided that government grants are approved by the membership countries, the Scandinavian Research Council for Criminology (NSfK) would like to announce the following research grants:

NSfK provides grants for 2010 to projects of Nordic criminological relevance. Applicants for individual projects may apply for up to 30 000 €, applicants for joint Nordic projects may apply for up to 150 000 €. The joint Nordic projects must comprise three Nordic countries and involve researchers from at least two of these countries. The NSfK’s annual council meeting in March 2010 will decide the amounts that shall be granted for research, as well as what projects should be prioritized.

The financial resources of NSfK are limited. Applicants are therefore encouraged not to submit applications exceeding the amounts stated in this announcement.

NSfK would also like to remind researchers of the possibilities of applying for financial support for working group meetings with joint Nordic perspectives.

Research grants: The application form and accompanying materials must be submitted and sent in three copies post stamped no later than November 16th, 2009.

Travel grants: The application form can be submitted all through the year (in one copy).
